Q: How do I remove the battery in a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee in order to replace it?
It seems to be bolted down, and I cannot find instructions on how to remove it. Thanks for you help.

A: Go to Batteries Plus and they'll replace it for you!

Q: How can I get my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee out of 4WD?
It is perpetually in 4WD and it wastes gas when there's no snow on the road. I'm wondering if there's something I can install.

A: Try shifting it out. Put the transmission in neutral and push the transfer case shift handle down to two wheel. If the transfer shift mechanism is broken see your dealer before the warranty runs out (3 years) as it is expensive. The shift cable is known to break but the entire mechanism has to be replaced as they don't produce the cable as a separate item. By the way Jeep specifically states to NOT run in 4 wheel on pavement, unless there is snow, as it is detrimental to the drive line and causes abnormal tire wear.

Q: I have a 2005 jeep grand cherokee. when i start driving sometimes my indicator lights flash on and off.?
I doesn't happen all the time. Most often after it sits alnight. All icons light up. I sometimes clicks car on and off real fast. But will stop shortly after it stops. Car runs great after it stops.

A: I can't help you. Everybody I know that has or had a jeep has bunches of trouble with them. I wish you luck!

Q: Lift kit options for a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
I have a client who is looking for a small lift for his 2005 GC. I have never worked with the IFS before. It looks like a simple spacer on top of the strut would do the required lift. A matching spacer on top of the rear springs should level it out. Who makes such a kit and what problems are caused by the lift other than the standard rise in center of gravity?

A: The 2005 and up Grand Cherokees are indeed IFS. There are many lifts that are relatively easy to install on that vehicle. I have installed this kit from Rock Road suspension, on a 2005 Grand Cherokee. http://www.rocky-road.com/2005grand.html It works very well for a daily driver that needs a little attitude adjustment but retains the stock ride, and allows larger tires. Its priced very fairly, and with your average hand tools can be easily installed. I've seen no negative side effects from this kit. I've recommended the kit to other customers as well.
