A: I don't know if this helps. I am with Seat Covers Unlimited. We custom make Seat Covers specific for the Jeep Liberty. It is a guaranteed fit, and is made to go over the existing seat. To see our full lineup of fabrics and colors, you can go to our site at www.seatcoversunlimited.com. The covers are not too hard to install, as they are made for your specific vehicle. If you don't want to mess with the install, before ordering you could call a local upholstery shop, and see if they would be up for the task. Hope this helps. www.seatcoversunlimited.com

Q: What would cause the rear tires on My Jeep Liberty to wear on the inside edge?
My rear tires on my Jeep Liberty still have half way decent tread on them. But they are getting very worn and slick on the inside edges. What would cause tires to wear on only the inside edge?

A: HI First have those tires been on the back sense they were new? If you don't know then they may have been on the front at one time or another. If you know they have been on the back sense new then I would guess you need to get the rear end looked at.. it may be barrens or it you have a independent rear end it may need springs or some kind of adjustment. Good Luck Tim

Q: Only people who own a Jeep Liberty-Do you like the vehicle and how does it do on gas?
I am looking to get out of an Escape and get a Jeep Liberty-because their towing capacity is far greater. Just wondering if Liberty owners's enjoy their vehicle.

A: I have the 2006 Jeep Liberty Sport and LOVE it! I like its overall size and the amount of head room! It is very sporty but still very practical. And you have to look at the atlantic blue color--it's beautiful! I drive approx. 30 miles roundtrip to work and I get gas every week and a half. Compared to my last car (Jeep Grand Cherokee), it is a little better.

Q: What does a 2002 jeep liberty get for gas mileage?
I am considering buying a 2002 jeep liberty and have heard it gets 18 then I heard it only gets 12. Can someone please tell me what theirs gets? Thanks

A: MPG (city) 15 MPG (highway) 19 MPG (combined) 16

Q: Does anyone know the pros and cons of a Jeep Liberty or Mitsubishi Outlander?
We are looking to get a used Jeep Liberty or Mitsubishi Outlander. Leaning more towards the Jeep though... Does anyone have anything good that can be said about either? Or if there are any problems you see with either that would help also... We are looking at 2004 models to more recent but it all depends on what we find in our price range around town.

A: jeeps are great for rock climbing an "mudding" but they are terribly unreliable, cost more to own and repair and breakdown more often than other cars. the Outlander is a underpowered and doesn't get very good mpg on the Hwy. they have better choices for the money. * Ford Edge * Ford Taurus X * Mercury Mariner * Saturn Vue * Ford Escape * Honda CR-V * Saturn Vue Green Line Hybrid * Ford Escape Hybrid * Hyundai Tucson

Q: I plan to purchase a used Jeep Liberty this summer. How Will I get the best deal?
Should I trade in my current car or should I walk in and negotiate the price I want without a trade in? Also, there is a Jeep Liberty Renegade I have my eyes on that is listed at $14,900. What's the lowest reasonable offer that I should offer for this and still be taken seriously? Thank you!

A: You'll get the best deal by not buying it...the Jeep Liberty was just named one of the ten worst vehicles by Consumer reports. Buy something that's not garbage.

Q: How many miles per gallon for Jeep liberty?
I just bought a 6 cyl. 2004 Jeep liberty and am only getting about 17 miles to the gallon. The dealer said I should be getting about 20 city and 24 highway. What do you get?

A: Your mileage is typical, to slightly better than typical for mixed driving. My friend only gets 16 with her '03. We have an '05 CRD (turbo diesel) which gets 26-27 mpg in mixed driving. I doubt the dealer said that you'd get any sort of mileage. They probably told you the EPA rating were........Since 2004, the EPA has again revised thier test methods so that the mileage numbers are closer to reality. All vehicles saw a big drop in EPA numbers.

Q: How much would it cost to spot paint a whole side of a Jeep Liberty?
Most of the right side of my Jeep Liberty is scratched and I need an estimate of what kind of money it would take to get it repaired. Thanks!

A: Depends on the condition of the body, preparation time and the quality of workmanship and materials. You can get it done at a bargain rate of as little as $300 or less at one of the chain shops like Earl Scheib (if it's in your area) Maaco or an independent shop or as high as several thousand dollars at a custom shop. Also, depending on the depth and extent of the scratching it may be possible clean up or minimize the scratching without painting. Pick up the phone, make some calls and check with some local paint and auto body shops.

Q: What is the cheapest to do a body lift on a jeep liberty?
I want to lift my 2005 Jeep Liberty. What is the cheapest way possible. Doesn't need to be a anything fancy just lift the body or something. Thanks

A: Lifting the body is not an option - it's a unibody construction, not frame. You;ll need to go with a coil spacer or suspension lift. Quadratec has a couple: http://www.quadratec.com/showcases/skyjacker/jeep_liberty_lift_kits.php 4x4GroupBuy has a few more, including some cheaper ones: http://www.4x4groupbuy.com/store/suspensions-lift-kits-jeep-liberty-c-4_906.html

Q: What do you think of the Jeep Liberty for 2008>?
I own a 2003 Jeep liberty and would like to trade it in 2008 or 2009. I just dont like the new boxy look they have come out with. I suppose I could upgrade to a Jeep Cherokee, but thats a little pricey for me. Do you know anything about a 2008 Jeep Liberty? Do you think the Liberty will change their look in 2009?

A: They don't make the Cherokee anymore... Are talking about the Grand? Check out the concept Renegade 110mpg hybrid diesel.

Q: How can I get better gas mileage in a 2004 Jeep Liberty?
Hey everyone I drive a '04 Jeep Liberty and I dont get good gas mileage (17 mpg avg.) and I was wondering what kind of upgrade or performance parts that will help w/o doing a whole lot of moddifing or spending alot of cash?

A: I would have to say get a permanent, high-flow K&N air filter. My parents both own Jeeps and when my dad replaced his with and my moms' I noticed a definate improvement in their gas mileage. About 5 or 6 miles per gallon.

Q: How to get rid of my 06 jeep liberty with low miles?
I'm currently driving a 2006 jeep liberty with 26,200 miles. However i'm not eally happy with it as it is not real comfortable to drive.

A: sell er then. privately would get you more money and prbably easiest. if your area has a free press i highly recommend that over any local paper. i have had much better success! sorry your not a jeep lover. maybe a wrangler?

Q: What are the possible ways to steal a Jeep Liberty?
My son borrowed my 2004 Jeep Liberty for the weekend and it was stolen. I am trying to determine if he had locked the car or not...if it was hot wired...or towed off. Any possible ideas would be appreciated. All four doors and rear hatch lock with key chain and lights flash once. I gather it is standard. No other alarm system was installed. Assuming he even locked the car. How easy is it to break into a locked Liberty?

A: well my best friend live in a bad neiborhood so everytime i find a stolen car its either burned or all the windows are smashed in. you dont need to be smart to steal a car just a low life.

Q: How much is it to have a mechanic replace a heater core in a 2004 Jeep liberty?
I looked up the core itself for about 100 bucks on line, but I hear from many this is a HUGE job is that true? and @ 70 bucks an hour this could be well over $500 oes this cound right to you anyone own a Jeep liberty that had this done?

A: Heater cores are mounted to the firewall behind your dashboard. Most vehicles require that the entire dash come off, this includes, hvac controls, radio, glovebox, and the dash itself. It is usually very labor intensive, there are a few vehicles out there equipped with an access hatch to get to the heater core without a lot of fuss, but I'm pretty sure the Liberty is NOT one of them. Most heater cores take between 7 and 10 hours, this is a guesstimate without looking up the actual labor cost on the Liberty. Any shop will give you the actual labor time if you contact them.

Q: Where is the interior fog light switch for a 2002 Jeep liberty?
Are the lights in the jeep liberty dummies at this time or are they active?

A: Try turning on your parking lights, then pull the end of the column switch out. I know this is what Chrysler did for the PT Cruiser. My guess is it would be the same switch.
