Q: I have a 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. When I got the car back from the mechanic, he told me of a 'rod knock'.
He said that this is basically the end of the engine in the car. How long will the rod take to seize the engine? If I were to drive the car around, how much longer would I expect it to run?
A: When the rod breaks it will no doubt put a hole in your engine block and leave a pool of oil all over the place. You have from now to infinity. It is impossible to tell you an accurate amount of time, depends on how bad the rod is, how you drive, and what the other components in the engine look like.
My best guess would be your days are limited to under a month, but who knows could run forever.
Q: opening tailgate of 1989 jeep grand wagoneer?
is there a trick to opening the tailgate if you have electric windows? my window does not roll down to enable me to open tailgate is there a way to get to window panal to let window down. i cant find the electrical problem
A: If its electric did you check the grounds especialy onthe window motor its probally behind the panel since its a steel body also did you check the power window motor Id take the door panel off and see what it looks like around the motor I had a durango i was working on once that the glass kept slipping out of holder on the motor before it got down all the way
