Q: 1993 Jeep Wrangler - How much can I get?
I have a 1993 Jeep Wrangler with a hard top, soft top, bra, body is recently repainted (no rust), new wind shield, inside floor is sprayed (armorthane liner), 110K.

A: Go to www.kbb.com and you can find out msrp, private party value and trade in values. you have to have the year make and model and the engine options tranny options and all the other options. then you choose either excellent, good, or fair conditions to describe your cars condition. this website is very accurate to what you should sell your jeep for. i trust it all the time.

Q: How do you tighten the Fan belt on a 1993 Jeep Wrangler?
I looked through the manual and there's nothing on fan belts. My stepdad and I looked for the lever that ussually comes off of the generator to tighten a fan belt but there isn't one on my jeep. He has a Jeep, but his is a cherokee, if someone would help be I would greatly appreciate it!! THanks!

A: To replace a worn belt, locate the idler or generator pulley. Loosen the hold-down fastener for the idler or generator pulley. Pry the idler or generator pulley inward to release the belt tension and remove the belt. Match the old belt up for size with the new replacement belt. Observe the belt routing diagram in the engine compartment. Install the new belt over each of the drive pulleys. Often the manufacturer recommends a sequence for feeding the belt around the pulleys. Pry out the idler or generator pulley to put tension on the belt. http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/04/ed/43/0900823d8004ed43/repairInfoPages.htm

Q: What is the capacity of the stock fuel tank on a 1993 jeep wrangler?

A: It is a little known fact that Chrysler cut some corners while building the 1991 through 1995 Jeep Wrangler production lines. To help cut the cost of making two separate gas tanks for the 14.9 gallon (4 cyl) and the 19.7 (6 cyl) gallon tanks, Chrysler used one tank for both and extended the fill vent tube down into the tank. This causes the gas pump to think the tank is shallower than it actually is and turn off before being truly full. To modify your tank, just follow the link So, the answer is 19.7 gal.

A: yeah it will probably move it alright but stopping is another story...... thats something to really think about along with the high level of gravity to watch on turns with something so heavy getting towed hope this helped......

Q: My 1993 Jeep Wrangler has starting issues?
I'm having starting problems with 93 Jeep Wrangler with a 4.0L 6 with an auto trans. Sometimes it starts right up, and sometimes it won't start at all, independent of the weather conditions. I have spark (took plugs out and tested but replaced cap, rotor, and plugs) and replaced the fuel filter (I didn't tighten the hose all the way and it shot out fuel, so I know the fuel pump is working), and cleaned the throttle body. A friend suggested the injectors or the relays. Could that be it? Thanks

A: I own a shop, and the next time it won't start try this; Use a long screwdriver, or pipe to put against the injectors to see if you hear them clicking when you are trying to start it. If not, then the ignition control module may be going bad. Sometimes they will work fine, and ten minutes later they don't work at all, and them a few minutes later they decide to work again. It looks like you have covered the bases here. If you have fire at the sparkplugs, then it must be within the fuel delivery system, and if you have access to a noid light, you can test the injectors one at a time for signal with it, or do the screwdriver thing I mentioned. You can have fuel pressure, but not enough to push it through the injectors. Think about how small the orfice is in the injector, and you suddenly realize how much pressure it takes to push fuel through them. First an foremost, check to make sure you have a good battery, good clean, tight connections, and the ground strap from the engine to the firewall is secure, as this is how the computer gets ground to work with. Any of these will stop it dead in its tracks. Also; there is a ground that comes from the fuel pump to the frame, and if its corroded or rusted, it will not allow the pump to work properly, and may even burn the pump out if its arching to ground as this makes the pump overheat and quit working. A bad mass airflow sensor can make one act like this too. Test it by taping on it with a screwdriver with the engine running, and if it shuts down as soon as you do this, you have found the problem. A bad crank sensor can be the cause of this too. An ignition control module can test good and still be bad, as it only breaks down when it gets hot, so don't let that trick you. Part 2: How can you have fuel pressure (turn the engine over) and the neutral safety switch be the problem, IF it in fact turned over? If the neutral safety switch is bad, the starter won't turn the engine over at all. I'm sure you have tried moving the gear selector, and that did nothing, so I think if you will go over what I suggested, you might just find the problem. A common problem with these is the crank position sensor, but since yours is a "93" I'm not sure it even has one, but if it does, it may not be any good. If you have a distributor, and I think yours does, you must look at what signals the computer to send signal to the injectors. If you don't hear the clicking, then your injectors are not firing. If they are firing, then you don't have enough pressure (probably) to push the fuel through the injectors. You can test this by purchasing a spray can of carburetor/choke cleaner, hold gas pedal to the floor, spray 4-5 seconds into the intake, move the spray away (don't want to get injured), and start the vehicle. If it starts, then you can be sure the problem is the injectors not firing. The computer gets a signal either from a crank/cam position sensor, tells the computer when to fire the injectors, and the computer sends a ground to the injectors, thus the injectors fire. You must make sure you have this signal to the computer, and the injector is getting the signal also. You must also make 100% sure the computer is powered up with 12.0 volts, and is getting a good ground. A noid light should be used to check injectors with, and a fuel pressure gage used to check the pressure on the injector rail. If all of this checks out, and you don't have any signal to the injectors, (after you rule out the crank position sensor, or ignition control module) then you must clean & test the wiring harness to the computer, and finally suspect the computer being bad. As another precaution, its always a good idea to do a compression test on the engine. The engine must have fire, fuel, and compression in order to run. Finding the missing component will lead you to the solution. Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

Q: 1993 Jeep Wrangler Wiring for a Hitch?
can anyone tell me how to wire my jeep for hitch lights. Just got my hitch installed but need to know how to wire it so i can have trailer lights. Or if you can find a sight with complete step by step instructions let me know. thanks.

A: You can get a wiring harness that connects into your existing harness. No cutting or splicing. The links below is just two, just to give you an idea of what's out there and how easy it is. There are plenty of venders to choose from. Most auto parts houses can order it for you if they don't stock it. Happy Trails!

Q: How difficult is a 2 or 3 inch body lift to install on a 1993 Jeep YJ Wrangler, and how much time to do?
This jeep has a 4" Rough Country lift already. All shocks and leafs have been changed. Transfer case was lowered. Longer pitman arm was installed. 33" tires on 15" wheels have been installed. Just want more clearance in wheel wells.

A: 2" and 3" body lifts WILL bind your steering which can be dangerous. Taller body lifts also cause problems with shifter alignment. Nothing is less fun that sitting at an intersection or at the base of an obstacle battling your shift levers because they're way out of whack from 2 and 3" body lifts. The leverage can also cause the body to slide and shift. I would go with a 1" Daystar body lift & a 1" shackle lift. Let's not forget the radiator needs to be lowered and 1" motor mounts(1" motor mount still aren't a bad idea w/a 1 in body lift) need to be used with a 2 and or 3" bodylift. FYI: When you start useing tires larger than 33" on a Dana 35(if that is what you have) you will increase the odds of you bending or breaking your axle.

Q: how long does it take to change a rear end in a 1993 jeep wrangler ?

Q: 1993 jeep wrangler 2.5l?

A: You are about at your limit. One more inch of lift and you can fit 32s. With 5" of lift, you can fit 33s.
