Q: Will a 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon suspension fit a 2000 Jeep Cherokee?
Will a 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon suspension (springs, shocks, control arms, pitman arm, track bars and tie rod) fit a 2000 Jeep Cherokee? I found a deal and need new suspension.
A: You can modify just about wnything these days, but in order for this to work the whole subframe would have to be removed so that extra supports can be welded. If not the subfram will bow from the extra weight and cause excessive suspenion and tire wear. I suggest that you check aftermarket which can come with a convertion kit...Go to www.jeepmods.com for further information
Q: What does everyone think of the new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon?
Looking to purchase a new 2 door wrangler rubicon...anyone have one or have any opinions on them....good or bad........it supposed to have been much redesigned over the older models...so is it worth the extra to buy the new one or get a couple years older and save a few bucks....pros and cons on it and if anyone has any..... the likes and dislikes please....thanks for all the help.....
A: Depends on the engine...I'll go to the grave in my '95 Cherokee with the 4.0 L in-line six. The v-6's and Hemi's aren't all they're cracked up to be. But any Wrangler that you can get with the 4.0 will last forever.
Q: What is the difference between a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Sahara and X.?
About to buy a 4-door Wrangler, and I'm not sure if the Rubicon is what I need -- I love outdoor sports. Want to get into off-roading, etc.
A: Besides makeup, the differences basically are:
Rubi: Dana 44 axles rear and front with 4.10 gears and "locked" + NP231 transfercase with 4.0 reduction.
Sahara: Dana 30 front and D44 rear axle with 3.73 gears. Stock transfercase.
X: Dana 30 front and D35 rear axle with 3.73 gears. Stock transfercase.
Need confirmation on gears for the X and Sahara. It could be 3.50 or less with the 4 cylinder engine.
Q: Where can I get a full turbo kit for a 2006 jeep wrangler rubicon?
I want to put a turbo in my 06 rubicon. But im not sure where to get it i can't find very many site on the internet that sells them and the 1 i did find was $5,000. so does any body know any good or cheap places?
A: i would look into a supercharger, turbos have lag, they are better suited for high rpm performance(given that it is powered by exhaust gases). With a jeep you would benefit more from an increase in horsepower and torque throughout the whole rpm range, with your drop off coming on the higher rpm range.
Q: How much is it to replace a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon windshield.?
It has a small spider crack. Can the windshield be repaired or does a new one have to be put in.
A: i wouldn't pay mor then $250.00
Q: Can I easily replace the manual transmission on my 2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with a 2005 transmission?
I bought a 2004 Wrangler Rubicon on a whim (an error on the website saved me $1000!) I then started doing research and realized that Jeep changed the transmission in 2005 from a 5-speed to a 6-speed. In my 5-speed, 1st gear is WAY too low for street driving, so I start from 2nd, which is too high, and I'm burning my clutch. I want to replace it with a 2005 manual transmission, which has a lower 1st gear, but also a lower 2nd, which will give me a better "street start" 1st gear, and I will still have 5 effective gears.
My basic question is: since the engine is the same 4.0L I-6, will the new transmission bolt directly onto the engine, or are they incompatible?
(I believe I gave enough information, but I will supply more if it is needed)
A: Yes, you can change the transmissions, but a transmission swap is never an easy operation. But since you already saved $10,000, you can afford to have it changed by a professional who will optimize the transmission for your desires.
Q: how do i program a new remote for a 06 jeep wrangler rubicon?
there's no manual, it's off ebay. they don't need a computer or anything. it's usually key on. with door open push button on beeper, lock door, key off then on. someone has to know how do do it without paying the dealor 50 bucks for 2 minutes of work and waiting there for 2 hours to get it done.
A: Each is different. I'd consult with the manual that came with your "new remote".
Q: **What is the difference between a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon?
is there any difference at all?
A: The Rubicon has Dana 44 axles front and rear, front and rear locking axle differentals, bigger tires, off road shocks, lower geared transfer case just to name some things. The Wrangler unlimited is not a model, the unlimited is available in the X,Sahara and Rubicon models and just means it is a 4 door Wrangler. If it is not a unlimited it is a 2 door Wrangler.
Q: Which suspension lift kit I should buy for my 04 jeep wrangler rubicon under $1,000 installed?
I am not a real big for off-road, but I don't like for my jeep to be stocked. I was thinking about a 4'' rough country suspension lift, because it is affordable. Is this a good idea? Also what kind of tires can I fit on it? I am looking for something that looks wide and kinda sticks out that way I can put some bushwacker flares.
A: Installed for a grand? For looks? Why bother? Ok, here's what you do. Since you can't wrench on your own rig just get some 2 inch spacers and run 32 inch BFG's. That way you won't have to regear, you're ride will still be nice and cushy for your soft little butt, and it will have the look that it can go anywhere, but won't. A 4" lift will be too expensive and too complicated for you to work out, so stay away from that. Are you sure you wouldn't rather be driving a Beetle Convertable or a Miata?
Q: How Do I route power wires for a subwoofer amp in a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon?
I have the wiring, and the amp, and the subs....I decided that I want to keep a stereo system in during the winter months. Is there a place in the firewall to lead wires through to the cab? IF not, where have you made a hole for the wires, and how did you do it? Thanks in advance for reading this and your input.
A: Ive owned 2 jeeps so listen up. the best way is to route the positive power wire from the battery to the firewall keeping it as high as possible. turn it towards the driver's side and as you pass the grill braces, (the two long rods going from the grill to the firewall) zip tie the wire there. there should either be a rubber plug or wire gasket of sorts near the steering column route the wire trough there. If not drill a hole just big enough for the little plastic piece in the power kit and route the wire though there. DO NOT RUN IT AGAINST BARE METAL! NOR UNDER THE CAR. you hopefully didn't buy a Rubicon to drive only on the street. if a rock were to tear the insulation and scratch the paint. well use your imagination it wont end well. keeping the power on the drivers side route it under the carpet. the little blue wire goes from the blue wire back of your CD deck to the amp. Thats what turns it on and off. What! no aftermarket deck! no problem. find out what wire on the back of your stock deck is the ignition wire and splice the blue wire in to it and run it to the amp where it say REM (remote) while you are back there conect the RCA wires if you are using the stock deck you will need to get a hi level adapter you can get one from best buy's, circuit city's, even wal-mart's car stereo department. keep the REM wire next to the large power wire and the RCA's on the OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE CAR. if you dont you will hear the alternator though the sub's. the ground wire needs to be a solid conection pull up the carpet and sand off a half dollar size area on a flat piece of sheet metal of the car near where the amp will beput two short self tapping screws through the terminal in the middle of the sanded are. BE CARFUL not to put a screw through anythig like a gas tank or other wires on the other side check the area before you sand. i know it wasnt your question but to tune your new system its best to turn the amp all the way down turn the dek up till it starts to distort and then back off a little. now do the same with the amp. have fun and remember to use the right size power wire and get a 1 farad capasitor for every 1000 watts of max power. ( i do 1 every 700) i probably gave you more than you needed but i know what a headach it can be.
Q: Can someone tell me the detailed specs of the stock wheels of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon?
I need offset, backspacing and lug pattern, as well as the overall measurements.
I forgot to mention, it's the up-to-2006 version
A: I assume you are not talking about the 2007, so on the original Rubicons the wheel is a 16x8 with 5x5.5 bolt pattern and on the backspacing it's 5". I can't find any info on the offset. Hope that helps.
Q: different between the 2004 jeep wrangler sport and the 2004 jeep rubicon?
different between the 2004 jeep wrangler sport and the 2004 jeep Rubicon?
A: The '04 Rubicon has Dana 44 axles with electropneumatic lockers. It also has lower gearing and a 4:1 transfer case low range. It does NOT have swaybar disconnect as someone mentioned (this isn't a factory installed item until '07). The Rubicon also has Moab aluminum 5 spoke 16" wheels with Goodyear Wrangler MTRs (a good offroad tire, but not much for the highway). The sport has higher gearing, Dana 30/35 axles, 15" wheels with a more highway-suitable tire, and no lockers.
Q: I have a 4 full door 2008 jk jeep wrangler rubicon is there anywhere I can buy 4 half doors?
Exterior color is rescue green and if it where available about how much do you estimate it would cost?
A: not exactly "half doors" but still serve the same purpose.

Q: Will an 03 jeep wrangler rubicon's OEM suspension lift an 06 wrangler?
I have the OEM coil springs and shocks from an 03 wrangler rubicon. If I put these coil springs and shocks on a stock 06 wrangler how much lift would this achieve and do I need any additional parts such as longer sway bars?
Thanks in advance.
A: JeepGuy is close, but not 100%.
03 Rubicons have the same suspension as other TJ models. Control arms and everything.
Check the part number of the coils. Some Rubicons have either 129AA or 130's in the front and 105AA or 106's in the rear. A six cylinder TJ will not get any noticable lift doing the swap. Most 6 cylinder TJ models have the 129AA/105AA set up already! If they are free go ahead and get them but don't expect any lift unless your coils are worn or compressed.
Rubicon part numbers: 129AA or 130AA front, 106AA or 105AA Rear
Sport/Sahara/: 129AA front and 105AA rear
The difference in spring rate may give you 1/4" difference at MOST when compressed with the vehicle's weight!
The 1" difference in suspension height between the TJ and the Rubi comes from the SPACER. The additional ride height is because of the tire size difference.
The swap you are talking about will not noticably (if at all) lift your jeep unless you use a coil spring lift spacer (like the one used in the Rubi) or if your springs are sagging and the Rubi springs are fresh or you have a 4cyl TJ....
Q: How is the ride on the street with a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon or any jeep wrangler?
Looking to get a newer jeep or maybe a used jeep.....seeing if it rides really poorly or not to bad where it is annoying just to drive around town.
A: They dont ride as smooth as a cadillac or towncar, but thats not what they are built for. I have never found the ride unplesant, but you will notice a pothole when you go over one. Actually, I think Jeeps are really comfortable. Everyone has a different definition of "comfortable" though, just go for a ride in a friend's or take a test drive. Note that the newer Rubicons have independent front suspension (much to the angst of old school Jeep fans) so they ride smoother than the older Wranglers. That would be something to consider. Personally, I like the older wrangler better, if anything because of the 4.0L inline 6 instead of the new chrysler 3.7L V6.
